PCS-8300 High-voltage DC Circuit Breaker
  • PCS-8300 high-voltage DC circuit breaker applies advanced hybrid topology, it is composed of three branches, namely main load branch, breaker branch and MOV dissipation branch.

    Normal current flows through the main load branch and it has low operation losses. When some fault occurs on the DC side, the valve banks of main load branch are first blocked, and the current is forcibly transferred to the breaker branch. At the same time, the high-speed mechanical switch located at the main branch is opened to achieve arc-free breaking. When the mechanical switch is disconnected, the valve banks of breaker branch are blocked, a transient overvoltage is generated, and the energy is transferred to the MOV dissipation branch to complete the entire DC fault current breaking process.

  • Features
    • Bridge rectifier type hybrid topology, low operation loss, fast breaking speed (<3ms) and large breaking current (>25kA).

    • Bridge commutating and unidirectional turn-off devices are adopted in breaker branch to achieve bidirectional current breaking, significantly reducing the number of fully controlled power semiconductor devices, with good economy and reliability.

    • A unitized design concept is adopted to meet the engineering needs of different voltage levels and capacities.

    • Integrated valve tower design, compact structure, well seismic performance, easy for construction, and direct replacement of IGBT devices in tower are supported, convenient for maintenance and overhaul.

    • With the ability of reclosing and double breaking.
